Kurt Krueger Architects help Homeowners with LA Code Change

changes to the LA Building Ordinances

Brentwood Los Angeles, California; Jan. 31, 2017 – Kurt Krueger Architects of Brentwood is on a mission to educate Los Angeles homeowners about the upcoming changes to LA Building Ordinances. Amendments to the LA Baseline Mansionization Ordinance and Baseline Hillside Ordinance (BMO and BHO) are making their way through the Los Angeles City Council and will create new regulations on what can be built on residential lots throughout Los Angeles.

Kurt Krueger Architects founder and President Kurt Krueger says, “Major changes are coming that will affect what you can do with your home. Many homeowners I have spoken to are not aware of this and, unfortunately, most will not fully realize the impact until it is too late.”

Some of these changes include the elimination of significant square footage bonuses and exemptions that will dramatically affect the size of your home. In addition, these code changes will affect the placement of your new home’s exterior walls, altering the overall appearance. Many LA residents are planning a new home or addition and if they wait too long, may find out that what they would like to do is no longer possible.
